Outstanding persons of the Finno-Ugric and Samoyedic peoples
Media center FINUGOR.RU held the international contest “Outstanding persons of the Finno-Ugric and Samoyedic peoples” (“Leaders of the Finno-Ugric World”). In the course of the contest were identified 56 of outstanding personalities (in eight nominations), representing different peoples of the ural language family. International project has been held in Russia, Estonia, Finland, Hungary and other countries, where the population of the finno-ugric and samoyed peoples, with the purpose of popularization the information about the outstanding representatives of the ethnic groups of the ural language family and persons, who made a significant contribution to the study, preservation and development of languages and cultures of these peoples. Thanks to our users were assembled almost 600 biographies "leaders" of the samoyed and the finno-ugric peoples, which you can find in the section All "Leaders".

Finno-Ugric Library Since 2002 media-centre FINUGOR.RU has been realizing the project “Finno-Ugric Digital Library”.Now digital book depositary includes over 60 books in various Finno-Ugric languages, as well as issues of the newspapers “Komi Mu”, “Yologa” and “Khanty Yasang”. Since 2008 the library also contains audio recordings of Finno-Ugric writers’ and poets’ works. At the moment there are about 80 recordings.
 
«7 Wonders of the Finno-Ugric and Samoyedic Peoples» From 30 June till 7 December 2010 media-centre FINUGOR.RU was holding an international contest “7 Wonders of the Finno-Ugric World”. In the course of the contest there were chosen 28 most attractive objects of cultural and historical heritage of the Uralic linguistic family in 4 categories: nature, culture, celebrations, and monuments and constructions. Moreover, thanks to our users, there were collected over 400 descriptions of different “wonders” of Samoyedic and Finno-Ugric peoples, which you can find in the section «Encyclopedia of Nations»

On-line Finno-Ugric Conversation Book On-line Finno-Ugric Conversation Book has been created and now is being developed on the basis of the media-centre FINUGOR. By this moment the development engineers have compiled the database containing over 1000 most frequently used in everyday life words and collocations in 11 Finno-Ugric languages. The list of languages represented includes Hungarian, Karelian, Komi, Mansi, Komi-Permyaks, Mari, Moksha, Erzya, Udmurt, Finnish and Khanty as well as international Russian and English. In the future, vocabulary and amount of languages are expected to be enlarged. On-line Conversation Book is available on the Internet to everyone interested.
