The presentation of a feature film “Last of the Line” took place in the town Salekhard in the regional center of national cultures. The directors of the film are: a famous film director Anastasia Lapsui and a Finn Markku Lehmuskallio. The film tells a story of a Nenets girl, who, against her wish, is to go to a boarding-school to Russian settlement. By the words of the film director, the film is based on a real story of a Nenets girl Neko, who was last in the family. The action takes place in 50-60-s of the last century, during the period of forming of the system of school education. Besides, questions of identity of peoples, preservation of languages and culture are scrutinized in the film. Preparation to the film lasted during 3 years, work on the film itself – 1 year. The film was made on the territory of Yamal. Local schoolchildren and teachers took part in it. Main roles were played by pupils of Yar-Salye boarding school Radion Anagourichi and Alexandra Okotetto. The world premiere of the film took place on Berlin festival, and also in Helsinki and other towns of Finland.
