The President of Russia Dmitriy Medvedev signed amendments to the law "About education", IA "Sever-Press" reports. Now schoolchildren, who study native languages and literature, can choose them for examination within the framework of the final certification for receiving of the basic common and secondary education.

As it is said in the explanatory note to the law, the form and the order of conducting of the final certification on native languages and literature for pupils are set by bodies of the state power of Russian subjects. In conformity with the law, bodies of the state power of subjects of the Russian Federation are occupied with selection of organizations, which fulfill publishing of teaching aids allowed for use in educational institutions having state certification and realizing programs of common education in the part of publishing of teaching aids on native languages and native literature.

Besides, the law foresees that regional, national and ethnic-cultural peculiarities should be taken into consideration in basic educational programs being elaborated by authoritative state bodies.
