From 2 to 6 February  will be a meeting of the board of the Youth Association of Finno-Ugric peoples (MAFUN) in Syktyvkar. Meeting of the leaders of the Association will be held in the framework of the training project for representatives of finno-ugric organizations, told the media center FINUGOR president of the MAFUN Vasily Nemechkin.

On the meeting will discuss topics such as the participation of young people in the VI World congress of finno-ugric peoples, which will take place in the Hungarian city of Siofok 5-9 September 2012, preparation of the round table on the subject of youth issues at this Congress, the participation of youth in the work of the UN Permanent forum on indigenous issues, as well as other organizational questions.

As told V. Nemechkin, youth participation in the VI World congress discussed already at the X Congress of MAFUN in Saransk, which outlined the main directions in the work of the Association. "Now fewer and fewer young people are interested in studying of native languages of the finno-ugric movement in general, therefore, it is necessary to ensure a quota for youth (up to age 35 years) - 30-50 per cent in the composition of delegations", - he explained.
