A member of the Union of Mari women "Saskavy" Nadezhda Kazantseva urged other women's organizations of the Finno-Ugric peoples of the Russian Federation to join the Interregional Union of Finno-Ugric women. She declared about it at the VI World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples, held in the Hungarian town of Siofok. According to her, women's organizations from Udmurtia, Komi and Mordovia supported this idea at the meeting of the Congress.
N.Kazantseva spoke about the experience of the Union "Saskavy" established in the Mari Republic in 2007, and noted that the women's movement within the limits of a civil society and authorities is a little presented now. "In Finland 35 percent of women take part in management at different levels. The role of women in Russia is underestimated yet," - she said and urged colleagues to take more active position.
Meanwhile, a representative of the Association of Moksha Women "Yurhtava" reported that in Mordovia this organization had been operating for 17 years and had achieved good results.
