Valery Markov remained on a post of the chairman of the International Consultative Committee of the Finno-Ugric people on the following 4 years. Such a decision was accepted by members of Finno-Ugric Peoples' Consultative Committee at the session of Committee in the evening on September, 6th in the Hungarian city of Siofok during the sixth World Congress of Finno-Ugric peoples. For V.Markov's nominee members of Finno-Ugric Peoples' Consultative Committee voted unanimously - 20 out of 20. Alternative nominees were not put forward.
Let's remind, on the Congress in Khanty-Mansiysk the alternative candidate was put forward, but V.Markov won the majority of voices. Also on the previous Congress the question on carrying over of headquarters of Finno-Ugric movement from Helsinki into Russia was raised up, but the majority of delegations rejected this idea.
