The first disc of songs for children in Komi language came out in the Republic of Komi

A new musical album «Kozin» («A present») of the Komi composer Michael Overin includes 17 songs for children: all of them, with the exception of three, are in the Komi language. According to the composer, this if the first electronic collection of songs in the Komi language, created for children.

M. Overin set to music lyrics by Vasily Lodygin, Victor Ulyashev, Albert Vaneev, Michael Elkin, Elena Fedorova, poet and a front-line soldier Ananiy Razmyslov and many others. Songs are performed by ensembles and soloists from the village Vylgort of Syktyvdinsky district, the village Kortkeros and Syktyvkar.

Minister of national policy of Komi Galina Gabusheva emphasizes that the Ministry is actively supports projects designed for children, as well as projects aimed at preservation and development of languages of peoples, living in the Komi Republic. «This project is interesting in many respects. First of all, it promotes the Komi language among the younger generation, gently develops an interest in the language, which is especially important in nowadays. Such projects are indemand for institutions of culture and education», - she said.
