The closing ceremony of the Summer school of Mari language and culture, which was held from 1 to 21 July on the basis of Mari state University with the active organizational work of the Institute of Finno-Ugristics was held on the shores of Lake Yalchik in the Volga region of the Republic of Mari El.

After three weeks of intensive work, the students and teachers from Finland and America (a total of six people) received a certificate of completion of summer school. They learned to write and speak in the Mari language, a lot of attention was paid to the culture of verbal communication and practice of translation. tudents of the summer school got acquainted with the culture and history of the Mari people, visited Morkinsky Gornomariysky and districts of the republic. Within the framework of studying a roundtable discussion on "Strategies for the Development of Higher Vocational Education and Science in the XIX century" was also held. It discussed the main trends in the development of education and science in the world, issues of international mobility and cooperation, including in the field of Finno-Ugric studies. Students demonstrated their achievements in learning the language during the Mari party holiday "Chung ӱzhesh Mari parkysh" - "The soul is calling in Mari Park" (Yoshkar-Ola) - they sang a song in the Mari language (see video below). 

Summer school of Mari language and culture was held for the 11th time, and students, who took part in it this year, think about further learning the Mari language and wish to come again on the ground of the Mari people.
