The Association of Finno-Ugric Universities (AFUU) will have a meeting under the leadership of the chairman of AFUU, the rector of the Mordovian State University of N. P. Ogaryov Sergey Vdovin on September 27 in Saransk. The meeting thesis "The role of Finno-Ugric Universities in development of national culture", the Mordovian State University web-site reports.
At meeting the question of reception to AFUU of the Academy of State Service and Administration of the Komi Republic will be considered. The rector of the Academy Nina Nesterova also will tell to colleagues - heads of Finno-Ugric regions of the Russian Federation universities about modern technologies in development of national languages and cultures.
There is a Center of Innovative Language Technologies at the Academy including Bureau of Official Translation (from Russian language to the Komi and back) and Interregional Laboratory of Information Support of Finno-Ugric Languages.
The director of Institute of National Culture of the Mordovian State University Tatyana Sidorkina will tell about activities of INC in the Finno-Ugric world. The rector of the Udmurt State University Galina Merzlyakova will tell about her institution role in preservation of a spirichual cultural heritage despite the Globalization processes. The acting rector of the Mari State University Mikhail Shvetsov will make a presentation "Language Certification in a Context of the Passport of Competences", and the director of Institute of National Culture and Cross-cultural Communications of the Mari State University Rodion Chuzayev will report to colleagues about technological searches in a revitalization of traditional cultures at this institution. Issues of national culture at training of specialists on different educational programs in Ugra State University will be taken up by the chief of sector of the international relations on a Finno-Ugric People to Deanah Gerasimova. To subject of the Karelian language in sociocultural space of the region will devote the performance the associate professor of the Department of Karelian and Veps languages of Petrozavodsk State University Olga Karlova.
Meeting of AFUU will take place parallel to work of the V Congress of the Finno-Ugric People of Russia in Saransk. Nina Nesterova also will take part in work of this Congress as a part of delegation from the Komi Republic as the observer. The program of the Congress will include reports on work of Association of the Finno-Ugric People of the Russian Federation on implementation of solutions of IV Congress of the Finno-Ugric People and tasks for the forthcoming period, also reports of representatives of regional offices of AFUN Russian Federation.
