The ethnhosinger and the Khanty-activist Larisa Milyakhova created in «VKontakte» a page on studying the language of Khanty. She told about it to FINUGOR Info center.

Indigenous people of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area are Khanty and Mansi. As L.Milyakhova explained, among them people are more senior than 30 years know the native language, but the bulk of youth doesn't know it. «In my environment, including me, proceeding from family membership, that is if both parents of the Khanty, children know the native language if contact of generations between grandsons, great-grandsons both their grandfathers and grandmothers is kept in a family. We support the language and traditional culture, living in the city. For example, I sing songs on the Khanty language, I put on in the traditional clothes of my ancestors. We try to communicate with contemporaries in the Khanty language. In the Khanty language there are seven dialects which also differ. I communicate in the Khanty language of a shuryshkarsky dialect, and I try to propagandize it. On a social network I created a page on studying of this language, the group is growing", - the activist reported.

For today the page has 241 followers from the different countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Finland, Estonia, the USA, Germany, Norway. «I consider that it is necessary to support the language, that our culture didn't remain on museum show-windows, the main belonging to a nationality is knowledge of language!» - L.Milyakhova emphasized.
