The protectors of the Finnish language magazine “Carelia” called for Putin and Niinistö

The representatives of Karelian society sent the address for the president of Russia Vladimir Putin and for Finnish president Sauli Niinistö asking for support the unique Russian magazine on the Finnish language  “Carelia”. One of the letter’s authors, the head of Kalerian Congress - Anatoly Grigoryev told to the media center FINUGOR.

Due to his words, the copy of the letter to Putin, which was subscribed by 57 political and social activists, was added to the address. As it is said in the address: “the government of the Republic Kaleria decided to cut the issue of literary-art magazine on the Finnish language  “Carelia”. This magazine is established during 85 years and is younger than Kaleria Republic for 8 years. The magazine  “Carelia” , of course, is a national pride of Kaleria Republic! The main part f Republic’s society, including the representatives of Russian language organizations, is against of cutting of the magazine “Carelia”. Their opinion about the protection of the magazine they expressed in the address to the president of Russia, the head of Kaleria Republic and other heads. In spite of such clear and fair position of Kalerian society, the today’s government of Kaleria Republic doesn’t want to take into consideration the interests and desires of Kaleria citizens, the readers of the magazine  “Carelia”, and continues the direction to the cutting of the magazine’s issue till 2 numbers in a year that is similar to the closing of such unique publication in Russia.”

In 2020 it is planned to celebrate solemnly the 100 anniversary of Kaleria Republic foundation as a national – governmental unity in the constitution of Russia. The high governmental commission has been already organized for the preparing of this event. And all understand that Finnish and Kalerian definitive the essence of the republic status of Kaleria. In this case, te today’s cutting f the magazine  “Carelia” in Kaleria Republic contradicts the political reality and common sense. If the issue of the Finnish language magazine is cutting, in what is the sense of 100 anniversary of Kaleria celebration?” –the authors of the address note and ask the president of Russia and Finland to help in solving of the problem of saving the magazine  “Carelia” in today’s format.
