
In the village Lovozero of Murmansk region in the National cultural center the presentation of the new book in the Lappish language "Taryench Kukessukhkhk" will take place on May 21 - Astrid Lindgren's known work "Pippi Longstocking" is translated in Kildin Sami language. About it the Kola Lappish radio reports.
The edition of the book became possible thanks to cooperation of the Murmansk regional center of the indigenous not numerous people of the North, the Association of the Kola Sami, the Council of representatives of the indigenous not numerous people of the North at the government of Murmansk region with the organization of descendants of the writer A. Lindgren of "Saltkråkan" in Stockholm (Sweden) and university of the city of Tromsø (Norway).
The edition from the departmental target program "Economic and social development of the indigenous not numerous people of the North of Murmansk Region for 2012-2016" was financed. The work on the translation and its edition was going on a voluntary basis. The interpreter- Aleksandra Antonova, the editor of the book - Elisabeth Sheller.
