The questions of preparation for carrying out the Congress were discussed at the board meeting of the Youth Association of the Finno-Ugric People (MAFUN) in the village of Pomozdino of the Ust-Kulomsky region of Komi in the III International forum of Finno-Ugric young people FUROR. The leaders of Association shared the relevant information with readers of media center FINUGOR.

The president of MAFUN Sampsa Holopainen explained that the board started preparation of the Congress, it will be continued on a new meeting of the management of Association at the end of January - the beginning of February, 2015 in Helsinki.

The vice-president of MAFUN Vasily Nemechkin specified that the dates of the Congress in Tartu on July 29-31, 2015 were previously designated.

As the activist of Estonian youth organization FennoUgria Noored Silver Sild explained, it is offered to organize the program of the Congress, so that its participants could visit the cultural capital of the Finno-Ugric world of 2015 - the village of seto Obinits - in the Day of the kingdom of seto (Seto Kuningriigipäevad). "This Day all seto gather together, they show their cultural traditions, for example, seto clothes, kitchen, drinks, they elect the king or the queen of seto (Ülembsootska) for the next year. Solidarity and the brotherly relations of the people of the Ural language family can become a subject of the forthcoming Day of the kingdom of seto, - he noted. - Besides, in Tartu we can show to participants of the Congress how the small Finno-Ugric people develop science on the world level in their native language".

According to him, FennoUgria Noored will actively participate in activity of MAFUN and, in particular, in the organization and carrying out the Congress of MAFUN. "At the same time we want to start the project within which the representatives of the Finno-Ugric people and prominent activists attended schools and told children about Finno-Ugric relationship", - S. Sild reported. We will remind, the most recent Congress of YAFUP passed in Helsinki in August, 2013. The congresses are carried out once in two years. There was a tradition according to which the representative of the country/region of carrying out the Congress is elected as the president of YAFUP for the next two years (however, it was twice broken when during two terms the row of Association was headed by Estonian Yaak Prozes and the Mari Vasily Petrov) though elections pass on the alternative basis. Since the beginning of 2000 the youth organizations of Hungary, Finland, Estonia almost didn't participate in activity of MAFUN, however thanks to efforts of the Russian leaders of Association of the western Finno-Ugric people it was succeeded to involve in active cooperation again. So, now the president of MAFUN is the Finn, the board includes Estonians, and on the Congress in Tartu also the Hungarian delegation is expected.
