The Castrén’s Association organizes the ethno-touristic tour for Finns to Yugra

The Association named after Matthias Alexander Castrén (Helsinki) organizes the tour for the group of tourists from Finland to Khanty–Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Yugra in the June of this year. The representative of the Castern’s Association told about this to media centre FINUGOR.

The tour will be realized from 9 to 16 June, including the flight or train trip from Helsinki to Moscow and the flight Moscow – Surgut. First the tour was planned in August, but the local partner asked to remove this measure to the beginning of summer. The charge for one person to the transport of the route Helsinki – Moscow – Surgut – Moscow – Helsinki will be 750 euro. The costs on the place will depend on the size of the group, which will consist of from 10 to 15 persons. It will include the costs to the hotel, nutrition, visits of museums and other cultural organizations, the trip to the capital of Okrug - Khanty-Mansiysk. The program of the tour - the visiting of two or three settlements of Khanty and the acquaintance with the traditional mode of life of the native population of Ugra.

The leader of the group is the head of The Castern’s Association, the senior research worker of The Museum of Finland’s culture, the ethnographer, the Doctor of Philology Ildikó Lehtinen.
