In Karelia the new movie about the Veps culture is being shot

The popular television movie in the Veps language "Fish Is Small but Fish Soup Is Sweet" ("Kala - pen’,") will be devoted to a traditional type of economic activity of Veps – to fishery and everything that is connected with it,  a portal "Karelia Official" reports. How to knit fishnet, how to make the boat, with whom to go to fishing and how to prepare fish heroes of the movie – the inhabitants of the Veps rural settlements of Karelia, Kiino's village of the Babayevo region of the Vologda region, and also the village Ladva of the Podporozhsky region of the Leningrad region will tell.

Shooting began even in the fall of 2013. His authors - Vladimir Slavov and Larisa Smolina - managed to find for shooting the heroes who in the Veps language tell how to make the boat-dolblenka, how to use ancient tools: trammel, merdy, gaff, which in the Veps Prionezhye are stored in funds of the Sheltozersky Veps ethnographic museum, in the Leningrad region and are used presently.

All disks with the movie will be donated in schools, higher educational institutions, libraries, the museums, offices of the Veps national and cultural organizations of the Republic of Karelia, the Leningrad and Vologda areas, and also in the interregional and federal cultural centers of the Finno-Ugric people of Russia.
