The mayor of Saransk suggested to teach both the Moksha and Erzya languages in every school

The head of administration of Saransk (the capital of the Republic of Mordovia) Pyotr Tultayev suggested to create in department of education the devision which would deal with the school problems connected with studying of the Moksha and Erzya languages . "Bulletin of Mordovia" news agency reports about it.


At the meeting in city administration on Monday he noted that essential changes are required in a technique of teaching the Moksha and Erzya languages in city schools.
In each educational institution one of the languages is now being taught: Erzya or Moksha. Therefore there are cases, when the pupil with Erzya nationality has to to learn profoundly the Moksha language.
Pyotr Tultayev emphasizes that the school student himself has to choose language which is close to him since the childhood, teaching two languages at schools for this purpose is necessary at once. The departement on social policy of municipal administration and Department of education of the city have been recommended to work in this direction and to make the offers.
Also the re-created department should resolve the issues of need of creation the modern techniques of teaching the Moksha and Erzya languages for Russian-speaking school students, and also many others, including increase in number of teachers of the Moksha and Erzya languages, and providing pupils of different classes with good dictionaries.
