Anna Nerkagi became a laureate of the Literary Prize of Ural Federal Okrug

The ceremony of awarding with the Literary Prize of Ural Federal Okrug took place in Yekaterinburg, IA "Sever-Press" reports.
The plenipotentiary of the president of the Russian Federation in Ural Federal Okrug Igor Kholmanskikh welcomed the participants. According to his words, this is a remarkable event in cultural life of the region. The awarding ceremony has taken place for the fourth time. It is symbolic that this year ceremony took place on the World Writer's Day. Awarding with the prize becomes a good tradition. For literary men it became a kind of a quality mark, and the matter is not only in artistic merits of art-works issued from the pen of the laureates. The common level of the nominees for the prize is not less important. It convincingly shows: the best traditions of Russian literature are still alive, as the plenipotentiary notes.
According to his words, the present ceremony is full of special sense and content; the head of the state announced 2015 the Year of literature with his decree. For someone it may seem that it is no time for literary work. A serious challenge was thrown to Russia; independence, dignity and future of the country are under risk. However, our strength is defined not only in natural resources, technologies and military potential. Power of spirit has always been the main thing for Russia. It helped the country to survive and win in the most improbable circumstances. Literature historically is the basis of spirituality and culture in our country. It actually formed the national consciousness and Russian language, as Igor Kholmanskikh says.
This year 42 candidates from 15 regions of Russia sent their works. The jury marked only 14 authors. The laureates and the nominees were selected among them. The woman-writer from Yamal Anna Nerkagi is among the winners. She became the laureate of the prize in the nomination "Prose" for her novel "Molchaschiy" (Silent person). She was not able to arrive to the ceremony. But her diploma, decoration and money prize will be given to her.
