The Arkhangelsk region studies the possibility of the organization within Barents cooperation of sea cruises with visit by foreign tourists of the territory of national park "Russian Arctic" on the archipelago of Franz Joseph Land, reports the press center of the government of the Arkhangelsk region.

 

 

The deputy governor of the Arkhangelsk region on infrastructure development Alexey Alsufyev reported about it during a meeting of Barents regional council. According to him, sea cruises and cross-border yacht transitions are the most perspective projects in the sphere of development of tourism in the Barents region.

 —  At the present, we continue to study a question of discovery of Franz Joseph Land for stoppings of foreign passenger ships and creation of a sea check point on the archipelago, – the deputy governor marked.

 

 We will remind that within preparation of the updated program of border cooperation of "Kolarktik" the commission of experts created the preliminary list of perspective international infrastructure projects. From the Arkhangelsk region the "Creation of Infrastructure for Development of Cross-border Cruise Sea Products in the Barents Region" project was selected.
