Teaching of the native language is under the threat

The head of center of ethnocultural strategy of Federal institute's formation of a development of education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Olga Artemenko tells that a number of schools with training in the native languages from 2002 to 2010 was reduced three times, and a number of the children who are trained in them by 3,5 times, "National accent" reports.

The diminution of schools and pupils is connected to the optimization of a school network, the transfer of children of high classes to senior schools with training in Russian, with bad methodical training of teachers, the absence of the modern lines of textbooks and educational and methodical sets on the native languages. So far only textbooks on the Tatar, Yakut and Khakass languages are included in the federal list of textbooks for elementary, secondary and high schools.

The state language educational policy of federal leve and uniform approach is necessary both when writing textbooks and in case of compilation of school programs which would promote development of a dialog and all-Russian unification of all people of our country, Olga Artemenko tells.
