In Izhevsk, on the basis of the Udmurt institute of language, history and literature of URO Russian Academy of Sciences, enlarged meeting according to the solution of organizational questions on implementation of the International program "Bygy — the Cultural Capital of the Finno-Ugric World 2014" took place, in which Larissa Buranova, fulfilling duties of the minister of national policy of Udmurtia, participated. It is reported by the ministry of national policy.
The special attention on this action was paid to discussion and development of a control system and financial security of the program. Creation of republican organizing committee of the "Bygy — the Cultural Capital of the Finno-Ugric World 2014" program became a result of a working meeting. Into it entered both representatives of the ministries and departments of Udmurtia, and representatives of municipalities, civil community, scientists, journalists, public figures. Before this meeting within three days working meetings passed at which vital organizational issues of implementation of the annual program were resolved. In the scope of the activities, questions of the contents and the concept, management and mechanisms of realization, resource providing and, in particular, financial support of the program were discussed.
*** The "Cultural Capitals of the Finno-Ugric World" project started in March 2013 on an initiative and support of Youth association of the Finno-Ugric people. Among eight nominees – rural settlements with compact accommodation of the Finno-Ugric people – the Udmurt village Old Bygi of the Sharkansky region of Udmurtia gained a victory. Since January 1 and during the whole 2014 the village Bygy (the Udmurt name) will carry the status of the first cultural capital of the Finno-Ugric world.
