The Russian, the Karelian, the Finn and the Veps wrote the letter to Putin in favor of the magazine “Carelia”

The national writer of Karelia Marat Tarasov, the head of Karelian Congress Anatoly Grigoryev, the honored worker of culture of Karelia – the leader of folk- band Sattuma Arto Rinne and the poet, the journalist Nikolai Abramov sent the message to the president of Russia Vladimir Putin about the situation around the magazine “Carelia”, which is published on Finish language in Petrozavodsk. Anatoly Grigoryev told about it to the media center FINUGOR.  

 

According to his words, it is been expected that the head of the state will visit Karelia 28 of April. “The public decided to use the chance and wrote the letter to Putin about the magazine “Carelia”. The main salperwick Marat Tarasov, the national writer of Karelia is Russian. Moreover Anatoly Grigoryev is Karelian, Rinne is Finn and Abramov is Veps.” – précised the leader of Karelian Congress.

As Anatoly Grigoryev noted, the authors of the message decided to use only their power, because earlier different letters had been subscribeв by near 300 people, among them there were the social activists, the representatives of the intelligentsia, the deputies of the Karelian Parliament and the city Council of Petrozavodsk.

The core of the problem is expounded in the letter: the monthly magazine “Carelia” was cut to 2 numbers during the year and the publish- workers were fired out to 2 persons. The authors underlined that “hundreds of people of different ages and nationalities showed their protest against the cutting of magazine “Carelia”. The appeals to the head of Karelia, to administration of the RF president and for Putin himself were sent. In addition, the fight for the reconstruction of the magazine takes place in courts of Petrozavodsk. 

New letter was been passed to the president of Russia by the main Federal inspector of Karelia Alexander Hynninen. The message to the head of Kelaria Republic Alexander Khudilainen about 18 July 2013, which 34 representatives of the Karelian society had sighted, was added to the letter to Putin.

The leader of Karelian Congress told also that he passed the letter to the assistant of the secretor of the Russia Security Council Rashid Nurgaliev with the request to protect the magazine during the assistant’s visit to Petrozavodsk 15 of April.
