on conducting the International Information Project “Seven Wonders of Finno-Ugric andSamoyed Peoples” (“7 Wonders of the Finno-Ugric World”).

 

1. General Provisions

1.1. The present Provisions determine the procedure of organizing and implementing the information project “Seven Wonders of Finno-Ugric andSamoyed Peoples” (referred to as the Project ). The short name for the Project is “Seven Wonders of the Finno-Ugric World”.

1.2. The list of Finno-Ugric andSamoyed peoples is presented in Appendix 1 nearby.

1.3. The project is organized by the Media Centre of Finno-Ugric Peoples FINUGOR.RU (Media Centre FINUGOR.RU), a structural unit of “MIR” company.

1.4. The project shall be held at the expense of the organizers, sponsorship and proceeds from SMS voting.

2. Project Goals and Objectives

2.1. Goals of the Project:

  • promoting an interest of Urals peoples in maintaining their ethnic identity;
  • promoting an interest of other peoples to Finno-Ugric peoples, their cultural heritage, and maintenance of their unique nature and cultural objects;
  • socio-educational activity: informing about the unique historical and cultural objects of Finno-Ugric andSamoyed peoples.

2.2. Main objectives of the Project:

  • making an inventory of landmarks and cultural objects of all Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples to select the most interesting and significant ones;
  • attracting the mass audience to history and culture of Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples;
  • supporting the initiative of Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples to create new places and events of interest and develop the existing ones.

3. Project stages

3.1. The Project shall be carried out in 3 stages:

Stage I: “Informational” ( Jul 30, 2010 – Sep 30, 2010).

At the first stage, citizens of Hungary, Russia, Finland, Estonia and other countries shall be informed about the Project. The inventory of objects shall be also made, including interesting sites and regular events of Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples.

Everyone is welcome to propose for the project on the website www.finugor.ru/en/.

Each proposal should be supported by a short description which can be complemented by photos, audio and video materials.

All proposed objects and cultural activities of Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples shall be divided into four categories (nominations):

  1. Nature” (Nature sites). Nature sites are connected to history and culture of Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples can be proposed for the Project.

  2. Monuments and Constructions” (Cultural monuments and handmade constructions). Any specific cultural monuments and handmade constructions belonging to Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples can be proposed for the Project.

  3. Culture” (Cultural, art and literary objects). Oblects of non-material culture of Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples refer to this nomination.

  4. Holidays”. National public and traditional holidays of Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples, both existing nowadays and forgotten, can be proposed for the Project.

The proposed objects shall be included in the inventory for further participation in the Project and categorized on the basis of expert opinions. historians, linguists and other scientists, as well as public figures and politicians shall be included into the expert group. List of the experts shall be posted on the project webpage.

Stage II: “Selection” (Oct 01, 2010 – Oct 30, 2010).

At the second stage, objects of greatest interest from every people in each nomination shall be determined by public voting.

Voting shall be carried out by SMS voting and on the webpage of the project at www.finugor.ru/en/, as well as by other means approved by resolution of the Project’s organizers.

Internet users, registered at the website www.finugor.ru/en/, can vote once in 24 hours for one object in each nomination (4 votes total in 24 hours). The number of SMS messages per day shall not be limited.

Stage III: Final (Nov 01, 2010 – Dec 07, 2010).

At the third stage, 7 “wonders” shall be selected by public voting out of 25 or more objects presented in each nomination, which got the maximum number of votes.

Voting shall be carried out by SMS voting and on the webpage of the project at www.finugor.ru/en/, as well as by other means approved by the project organizers.

Internet users registered at the website www.finugor.ru/en/ can vote once in 24 hours for one object in each nomination (4 votes total in 24 hours). The number of SMS messages per day shall not be limited.

3.2. The official announcement of the Project results shall be held from December 10 to 20, 2010.

3.3. The time periods specified herein expire at midnight (00:00) Moscow time (+ 03 GMT) on the last day of each respective period.

3.4. As per the resolution of the Project’s organizers, voters can be awarded with prizes and gifts.

4. Informing about the Project

4.1. At each stage of the Project information about it and its terms shall be widely distributed by means of all available mass media, as well as announcements about the Project at public activities and events and by other possible means.

4.2. Information on the progress and results of the Project shall be published in mass media: national and regional printed media, Internet media, websites of government agencies and other institutions, public agencies.

5. Project Partners

5.1. Sponsors and partners can join the Project activities during any stage of the Project by the decision of the organizers.

5.2. The organizers can engage state and municipal authorities, mass media, public associations, universities, studies centres, other organizations, and experts also as partners of the Project activities.

5.3. Sponsors and partners may make proposals on amendments and addenda to the Project terms.

6. Legal Information

6.1. The organizers shall announce all key terms of the Project via the website www.finugor.ru/en/.

6.2. All amendments and addenda to the Project terms shall be approved by the organizers’ resolution.

6.3. The right to use text, photo, video and other materials submitted for the Project shall pass from their authors to the organizers at the time of their posting on the website of the project (www.finugor.ru/en/). The organizers have a right to use all materials for information and advertising purposes free of charge.

6.4. The individuals submitting materials for participation in the Project should be assure and responsible for their right to use these materials.

6.5. On completion of the project the organizers shall review its results and make a decision on further use of the materials and data obtained during the project.

Notes:

1. Cultural objects of the peoples which disappeared and were included into other Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples, such as merya, meshera, muroma, pechera, chud zavolochskaya, kamasinvsi, karagasi, matori, koibali and others, can take part in the project out of competition (the category "Other"). The most interesting objects may be included into the lists of voting lists by resolution of the project organizers based on experts’ recommendations.

2. Objects of sub-ethnic and local ethnographic groups of Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples can take part in the project as part of their major peoples.

3. In the list of people made the category "Other", which includes common Finno-Ugric and Samoyed wonders, monuments left by the ancestors of the Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples, miracles, related to the extinct peoples, etc.
